About Alex Dathorne
Prior to becoming a criminal defense attorney, Alex Dathorne was a federal prosecutor for the Department of Justice in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Mr. Dathorne also served as the Chief narcotics prosecutor (Drug Czar) at the Commonwealth Attorney's Office in Louisville. He supervised multiple attorneys and staff.
Mr. Dathorne also prosecuted many of Louisville's high profile cases. Prior to relocating to Louisville, Mr. Dathorne was an Assistant County Attorney and Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Lexington, Kentucky. Aside from significant criminal litigation experience both as a criminal defense lawyer and as a federal and state prosecutor, Alex Dathorne is also an adjunct professor at Brandeis Law School (University of Louisville) where he periodically teaches trial skills and criminal procedure. As a prosecutor, Mr. Dathorne was an adjunct faculty member at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina where he taught trial skills to prosecutors from throughout the United States.

Assistant Department of Justice Attorney, United States' Virgin Islands
As an Assistant federal prosecutor, Alex practiced in the United States Virgin Islands. He prosecuted all types of crime including public corruption, white collar fraud, narcotics crimes and violent crime.
Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Jefferson County / Narcotics Chief (Drug Czar)
As an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney and Chief of Narcotics, Alex obtained significant trial experience. Aside from prosecuting nearly all of the Louisville's major drug cases, Alex also handled numerous violent crime cases. Alex drafted the Commonwealth Attorney's Office's guidelines for drug prosecutions.
Assistant County Attorney in Fayette County
As an Assistant County Attorney, Alex prosecuted and tried numerous criminal cases in Lexington, Kentucky. Among the many cases he prosecuted were numerous DUI cases, drug cases and domestic violence cases.
Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Fayette County
As an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Lexington, Alex prosecuted numerous felony cases including drug cases, fraud cases, theft cases and violent crime cases.
